NT Government

9 April 2022

The Territory Government continues to support the wellbeing of international students living in the Territory with the 2022-23 International Student Wellbeing Grants Program opening on Monday 11 April 2022.

Local businesses, student groups and community organisations can apply for up to $10,000 in funding for activities and events that promote and improve the wellbeing of international students studying in the Territory.

Initiatives funded through this program have helped international students to connect and engage with other students, peers, businesses and Territory locals with the last round providing $100,000 to supporting 14 activities held between January to June 2022.

Highlights include today’s Nepali New Year 2079 (2022) which kicks off from 5pm at the Filipino Community Centre.

Northern Territory Chamber of Commerce interactive workshops on Australian Workplace Culture and Employment Law will be held in Darwin and Alice Springs in April and May, and the popular Kindness Festival will also return to the Darwin Waterfront in June.

Last weekend Kindness Shake held their inaugural International Students Day Out with students visiting iconic landmarks around Darwin and learning about the city’s culture and resilience as part of their cultural and immersion program.

Successful activities and events from the 2022-23 grant program will take place from July 2022 to June 2023.
