Supporting Tasmania’s Racing Appeal Board

Madeleine Ogilvie, Minister for Racing

As Minister for Racing, I am pleased to announce that expressions of interest are now open for a Tasmanian Racing Appeal Board (TRAB) Deputy Chairperson vacancy.

The TRAB is an independent body established by the Tasmanian Government under Section 23 of the Racing Regulation Act 2004.

The Board is responsible for conducting hearings and making determinations on matters including appeals against certain decisions of racing stewards, Tasracing, registered race clubs and the Director of Racing.

To be eligible for the Deputy Chairperson role, candidates must be an Australian legal practitioner of at least five years’ standing. Appointments are for terms of up to three years.

The Tasmanian Government recognises the important role that the TRAB has in ensuring and contributing to a healthy, growing and competitive racing industry in the State and encourages members of the public with the relevant attributes and skills to apply for this vacancy.
