Surf Parade Path on track

Bass Coast Shire Council’s construction of the next stage of the Inverloch Shared Pathway along Surf Parade is progressing well and is on track to be completed by the end of May.

This stage of construction will see the existing path extended from Veronica Street to Ozone Street and includes 75 formal car spaces.

Bass Coast Mayor, Cr Michael Whelan said it is fantastic to see this important community asset nearing completion.

“We know this long-awaited project is really significant to the Inverloch community as well as those who regularly visit the town,” Cr Whelan said.

“This stage of the Surf Parade shared path will further complement the existing infrastructure along the beautiful Inverloch foreshore, while being sensitive to the ongoing impacts erosion is having on the coastline,” Cr Whelan said.

The final stage of the path from Ozone Street through to the Inverloch Surf Life Saving Club is being reviewed and will consider an appropriate design to comply with requirements of the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning.

Appropriate traffic and pedestrian control measures will be in place during the construction period and road users may experience some short traffic delays during the works.
