Suspicious fire at Ashmore, QLD

Police are investigating a suspicious house fire at Ashmore this morning.

Around 8.00am, police were called to Belah Street with multiple reports of a building on fire.

The 46-year-old sole male occupant of the residence was not home at the time.

Preliminary information indicates that a person has forced entry to the man’s utility before reversing it against the right side of the building and igniting the rear of the vehicle.

The fire then quickly spread to the nearby residence, causing significant damage to its interior and destroying the vehicle.

Investigations continue.
