Suspicious fire investigation in Murrumba Downs, QLD

Police are investigating a suspicious fire that occurred at a property in Murrumba Downs this afternoon, July 12.

Emergency services responded to an address on Numbucca Rise around 1pm where a unit was located well alight.

An emergency declaration was made under the Public Safety Preservation Act encompassing the neighbouring streets. It was revoked shortly before 4.30pm.

The property was completely destroyed as a result of the blaze.

Police have declared a crime scene and investigations are continuing.

While no injuries were reported to emergency services at the time of the incident, detectives are yet to make contact with the occupant of the property.
