Roger Jaensch,Liberal Member for Braddon

The award winning Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden is loved by locals, is a mecca for tourists and is recognised by green thumbs as one of the best of its kind in the world.

This is why, as Member for Braddon, it gave me great pleasure today to turn on the new irrigation system, which is controlled via a phone app.

The system covers one third of the Garden and saves three hours in manual watering each day.

This innovation coincides with the spring flowering season and will see the Garden well-prepared heading into the summer period when demand is at its highest.

Encouragingly, the Garden welcomed 11,000 visitors during the last financial year.

The Hodgman majority Liberal Government made this all possible with a $50,000 grant as part of our election commitment.

The Garden is a jewel in the crown of the North West Coast and I am proud to have secured this funding to help it continue to grow.
