Orange City Council is undertaking a survey to measure community satisfaction across services and facilities.
The survey is one part of checking back in with the community on delivering the Community Strategic Plan (CSP). The CSP captures what matters most to our community, its aspirations, priorities and hopes for the future. This survey is part of assessing how those targets are being met.
The last community survey of this type was undertaken in 2023.
This year’s survey Community Survey will:
- Measure satisfaction against the 2023 benchmarks
- Measure community satisfaction with Council’s services and facilities.
- Identify priorities for services and facilities
- Benchmark against other local government areas
Orange Mayor Tony Mileto said the survey was a way of checking in with the community on a wide range of services.
“We do lot of community engagement on specific topics but this is a chance to take feedback across our broad and complex range of services. Council delivers childcare, supports disability services, runs events and an airport, build roads and picks up rubbish, supports economic development, plans for what Orange should look like in the future and employs more than 800 people. This survey is a way to test community views on delivery,” Cr Mileto said.
The survey will be conducted independently by Micromex Research with 400 randomly selected residents, predominantly via mobile phone across the next three weeks.
With a sample size of 400, results are accurate to within plus or minus 5 per cent at the 95 per cent confidence level. The data will be weighted to the latest ABS Census profile of the Orange local government area, so the results reflect the views of the broader community.
There is also an online survey covering the same questions which can be found here. The online survey will close on Monday 23 November at 9am.
The result will be reported to Council and made public.
