Council recognises the COVID-19 pandemic is an extremely challenging time for everyone in our community.
To learn more about how COVID-19 is affecting those who live, work, study or visit the Shire, Council is conducting a Together in Nillumbik community survey.
We have partnered with the healthAbility Community Health Service to deliver the survey and the results will be used to better support the changing health and wellbeing needs of our community during and beyond COVID-19 as well as plan for recovery efforts.
Nillumbik Mayor Karen Egan said Council wanted to hear first-hand from the community about the impact of COVID-19.
“During these uncertain times, Council is committed to supporting the community to stay safe and well,” Cr Egan said.
“We want to really understand how COVID-19 is affecting you and your family, your work, business or study.
“That way we can ensure we are providing the best services to meet your needs now and as we begin the road to recovery.”
Community members are invited to complete the online survey at our Participate Nillumbik website.
The survey will take about 10 minutes to complete. If you need assistance in completing the survey, contact 9433 3144 during business hours.
The survey will remain open until Monday 2 October.
Council will also be hosting a number of virtual focus group sessions providing an opportunity to share your experiences of COVID-19 and inform Council and our partners on ways we can better support the community.
These sessions will be held:
Wednesday 9 September 10-11am
Thursday 10 September 6.30-7.30pm
Saturday 19 September 10-11am.

To complement the survey, Council in collaboration with healthAbility Community Health Service and Diamond Valley Community Support, has established a Together in Nillumbik: Local Services Network, which includes cross service sector representation, all working together to keep our community thriving during this challenging time.
