Teen stabbed in Parramatta; investigation underway

An investigation is underway after a 17-year-old male was stabbed in Parramatta last night.

About 9.45pm (Friday 28 August 2020), the teen was walking on Church Street with a friend when he became involved in a verbal altercation with a group of males.

The argument escalated and the teen attempted to run away, heading north along Church Street heading towards George Street. The group gave chase and caught the 17-year-old male and stabbed him several times before fleeing the area.

Emergency services were called, and the teen was taken to Westmead Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

A crime scene has been established in Church Street as detectives from Parramatta Police Area Command commence their inquiries.
