Temporary changes to our branch opening hours

Commonwealth Bank has the largest network of branches around the country which remain open.

From Thursday, 2 April 2020 our branches, including some which normally open until 5:00pm one day a week, will temporarily close at 4:00pm in line with all other days in the week. Weekend trading branches will temporarily close on Saturdays and Sundays.

Mark Jones, Executive General Manager Customer Service Network said: “Our branches remain open Monday to Friday to support Australians through these unprecedented times.”

“We’ve also taken measures to enhance the safety of our employees and customers in branch such as implementing social distancing and other precautionary measures,” Mr Jones said.

Commonwealth Bank branches now have social distancing markers to ensure our customers and employees keep a safe distance from each other. To comply with Government guidelines we are limiting the total number of customers in branch at any one time. This means our branch employees may sometimes ask customers to wait outside or come back later if the branch is at capacity.

Furthermore, perspex screens are being installed in branch service areas to provide a protective barrier for our employees and customers. The screens will be installed at teller windows and service counters, and within offices.

Commonwealth Bank customers can continue to access cash at ATMs and via EFTPOS. Everyday banking is also available 24 hours a day online through NetBank and the CommBank app.
