Nic Street,Liberal Member for Franklin

The redevelopment of part of the Dover District School is one step closer, with tenders to be released this weekend providing a much needed boost to the local economy.

The work will upgrade the Years 11 and 12 facilities to provide contemporary learning environments, as part of the Government’s commitment to provide the best possible environments for students to learn.

Importantly, the building project will help to stimulate the economy and create much needed jobs during this challenging time as a result of COVID-19.

A tender will also be released tomorrow for the redevelopment of the Tasmanian eSchool North, which will provide additional capacity within the school to enable improved delivery of online learning.

The Tasmanian Government is investing $184.2 million across the State over the forward estimates in capital works which includes new schools, school upgrades, new Child and Family Learning Centres, new and upgraded kindergartens and school farm redevelopments.

As we begin the road to recovery out of COVID-19, projects such as these two provide an important boost the economy, and create much needed jobs in Tasmanian communities.
