The Australian Butcher Team is off to Paris

The Australian Olympic team might be back in Australia, but The Australian Butcher Team, sponsored by Victorinox, is on its way to Paris to fight for gold at The World Butchers’ Challenge in March 2025!

The World Butchers’ Challenge was first held in 2011 between teams from Australia and New Zealand, now 15 countries will be converging on the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles to compete for gold! The Australian Butcher Team won silver last year and is gunning for gold with the support of Victorinox in 2025.

To prepare for the Challenge, The Australian Butcher Team recently visited the Victorinox Headquarters in Sydney to receive the Victorinox Chefs Knife Folder and Chefs Backpack consisting of 17 key butchery products available for use not only in the competition but also in all their training sessions and preparation.

The Victorinox Chefs Knife Folder and Chefs Backpack contains: Victorinox Chef’s Knife 28cm, Victorinox Butchers Knife 28cm, Victorinox Pastry Bread Knife 26cm, Victorinox Filleting Knife 18cm, Victorinox Salmon Knife 30cm, Victorinox Boning Knife 15cm, Victorinox Santoku Knife 17cm, Victorinox Paring Knife 10cm, Victorinox Turning Knife 6cm, Victorinox Carving Form (Forged) 18cm, Victorinox Peeler, Victorinox Oyster Knife, Victorinox Sharpening Steel, Victorinox Spatula 25cm, Victorinox Heavy Duty Fish Scissors 21cm, Victorinox Knife Case, Victorinox Backpack.

The official list of Countries that will compete in 2025 in France will be: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Great Britain, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, Spain and the USA.

The World Butchers’ Challenge will run from 30-31 March and live streamed with the event lasting three and a half hours. Each national team of six will be challenged to transform a side of beef, a side of pork, a whole lamb and five chickens into a themed display of value-added cuts. The winners will be announced at a black-tie Gala dinner on 1 April 2025.
