Theft of dog in Docklands

Police are investigating after a man stole a beloved pet Shih Tzu dog from outside a restaurant in Docklands last night.

Five-year-old ‘Angel’ was secured to a pole on Bourke Street when the man can be seen removing her leash and fleeing with her about 8.30pm.

Melbourne West police have released CCTV and images of a man who may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is perceived to be Indian subcontinental in appearance with black curly hair and a black beard.

He was wearing a bandanna as a headband and a black long sleeve polo top with a white stripe on the collar over a white shirt and light jeans with large horizontal rips across the knees and sneakers.

He was last seen walking south along Bourke Street Waterfront carrying Angel.

Officers have also released an image of Angel, who had just received a haircut.

Anyone who recognises the man or knows the whereabouts of ‘Angel’ is urged to come forward.
