Detectives from the Homicide Squad have today charged a third man following a fatal shooting in Thomastown earlier this month.
A 20-year-old Reservoir man was arrested at Melbourne Airport shortly before 4am this morning attempting to board an international flight.
He was interviewed by investigators and has since been charged with murder.
The man will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
A 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, both from Donnybrook, were charged with murder on 10 September.
The duo was remanded in custody to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 1 February, 2027.
The charges follow an incident on Sunday, 6 September where a 22-year-old Thomastown man was fatally shot at a reserve on Victoria Drive in Thomastown.
He was treated at the scene but passed away a short time later.
Police will allege this incident was a targeted attack and the parties involved were known to each other.
