Third person charged over Randwick stabbing, NSW

A third person has been charged as investigations continue into the stabbing of a man at a Randwick unit over the weekend

Emergency services were called to the unit on Young Street about 8.40pm on Saturday (29 August 2020), after reports of an altercation.

Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command attended and found a 30-year-old man suffering stab wounds to his head and body, with his ear partially severed.

He was treated by paramedics and taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where he has undergone surgery. He remains in a serious but stable condition.

A 26-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man have been charged and remain before the courts.

Following inquiries and a public appeal, a 34-year-old man attended Maroubra Police Station about 6pm last night (Monday 31 August 2020).

He was arrested and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Police will allege in court that the man attended the unit and was involved in the altercation in which the injured man was stabbed before fleeing.

The Waterloo man was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Waverley Local Court on Wednesday 23 September 2020.
