Third person dies after Cressy collision

A Bannockburn woman has died following a collision in Cressy which claimed the lives of two others last week.

Investigators have been told a white Hyundai wagon travelling east along the Hamilton Highway collided with a westbound Mitsubishi about 3.15pm on Friday 17 May.

Two occupants of the Mitsubishi, a 73-year-old man and 73-year-old woman from East Lindfield, NSW, both died at the scene.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 56-year-old Bannockburn woman, was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

She died in hospital yesterday (21 May).

Her passenger, a 25-year-old Bannockburn woman, was also airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

She remains in a serious but stable condition.

A 9-month-old baby boy, who was in a child restraint in the back seat of the vehicle, was not injured.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
