Three chemist incidents suspected to be linked, South Australia

Police are investigating after two robberies and a theft on chemists in the northern suburbs and Barossa area over the past week.

At 3pm on Wednesday 3 November, a man allegedly armed with a firearm approached staff of the Kingfisher Drive chemist at Hewett, and demanded cash. The man stole cash before leaving on foot towards Wren Place.

Just after 4pm on Tuesday 2 November, police were called to a pharmacy on Roopena Street at Ingle Farm after a man entered and demanded cash from the register. A staff member handed over an amount of cash to the offender and he left on foot.

Police were called to a Salisbury North chemist about 10.20am on Sunday 31 October, after a man entered the chemist on Bagster Road, allegedly armed with a firearm. Staff handed over a small amount of money before he left the building on foot. He was last seen walking south-east on Shrewton Court.

In all three incidents the offender is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with a pale complexion, approximately 188cm tall with a slim build, aged in his mid to late 20s. On each occasion the man was wearing a hooded top with the hood pull up and a face covering.

Thankfully no one was physically injured as a result of the incidents.

Police are asking people in the Barossa area and northern suburbs particularly pharmacy staff to be vigilant and alert and contact the police assistance line on 131 444 should anyone be behaving suspiciously.
