Three men charged following investigation into alleged drug supply in south Sydney

A man has been charged following an investigation into the supply of drugs in Sydney’s south.

Detectives attached to St George Police Area Command established Strike Force Ashes to investigate the supply of heroin and methamphetamine in the local area.

Following extensive inquiries, about 3:50am on Wednesday 30 October 2024, officers executed a search warrant on a vehicle on a property at Hilly Street, Mortdale.

During a search, police allegedly located and seized from a car and a unit methamphetamine, heroin, MDMA, cocaine, steroids and drug paraphernalia and more than $170,00 in Australian currency and about $50,000 in counterfeit currency.

A 21-year-old man was arrested and taken to Burwood Police Station.

About 7:10am, officers executed further search warrants at properties at Roselands and Campsie.

During the search of the property at Canterbury Road, Roselands, police allegedly located and seized more than $4,000, methylamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

A 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Burwood Police Station.

The 21-year-old was charged with:

  • · Supply prohibited drug >= large commercial quantity;
  • · Supply prohibited drug >= commercial quantity;
  • · 2 x supply prohibited drug >indictable &
  • · Deal with property proceeds of crime => $100000;
  • · Knowingly direct activities of criminal group;
  • · Organises/conducts/assists drug premises;
  • · Drive motor vehicle while licence suspended;
  • · Possess counterfeit money (not excepted counterfeit coin);
  • · Fail to comply digital evidence access order direction.

He appeared at Burwood Local Court on Wednesday 30 October 2024 and was refused bail, before reappearing in the same court on Thursday 31 October 2024, where he was refused bail.

He will reappear in Burwood Local Court on Wednesday 15 January 2025.

The 22-year-old was charged with:

  • · Participate criminal group contribute criminal activity;
  • · Supply prohibited drug >= large commercial quantity;
  • · Supply prohibited drug >= commercial quantity;
  • · 3 x supply prohibited drug >indictable &
  • · Deal with property proceeds of crime => $10000;
  • · Deal with property proceeds of crime < $100000.

He was refused bail and appeared at Sutherland Local Court on Wednesday 30 October 2024.

About 8am on Thursday (1 November 2024), a 20-year-old man attended Burwood Police Station and was arrested.

He was charged with:

  • · Participate criminal group contribute criminal activity;
  • · Take part supply prohibited drug >= large commercial quantity;
  • · Take part supply prohibited drug >= commercial quantity;
  • · 2 x take part supply prohibited drug > indictable & < commercial quantity.

He was refused bail and appeared at Burwood Local Court on Thursday 1 November 2024 and was given conditional bail to reappear in the same court on Wednesday 15 January 2025.

Investigations into Strike Force Ashes are ongoing.
