Time is ticking for Premier to reach pay deal 12 July 2023

Tas Labor

The Premier and Health Minister Jeremy Rockliff is cutting a fine line to present a new pay agreement to the ANMF before its July 14 deadline.

If the Premier and his minority Liberal Government fails to meet the July 14 date, he risks losing what little good faith his government has with our nurses and healthcare workers.

Nurses would not seek to take industrial action unless they felt like their concerns were going unheard.

All our nurses are asking for is better workplace safety, improved management of fatigue and burnout, and competitive wages, which is what you would expect of any workplace.

After 10 years of the Liberal Government, little has been done to allay concerns about vacancies within the health system, overtime and burnout.

A Labor Government would ensure our workers are listened to, respected and valued.

Premier Rockliff must have the decency to make this deadline after months of negotiations and after the current agreement ended on July 1.
