Not for profit groups and organisations are set to benefit from $25,000 in grant funding to support community projects, exhibitions, and/or performances in Tongala.

General Manager Community, Keith Oberin said funding has been allocated to support the Tongala township and Council’s vision ‘We are strong, supportive, vibrant and sustainable.

“The Tongala Grants Program provides financial support for the delivery of a variety of activities and programs that will improve the health and wellbeing of the local community,” Mr Oberin said.

Part proceeds of the sale of the Golden Cow have been set aside and available immediately to support Tongala residents with initiatives to improve the lives of people within the Tongala community in accordance with the grant criteria.

“A maximum of $5,000 per application is available to support initiatives which may include the purchase of equipment, sport and leisure programs, arts initiatives and other community activities,” Mr Oberin said.

Applications for wages, prizes and social excursions are not eligible.

Applications are now open, and close at 5pm, Monday 17 August.
