Traffic changes on Seymour’s Oak Street bridge following safety inspection

Following routine inspections, Mitchell Shire Council engineers have identified new damage to a beam on the Oak Street bridge over Whiteheads Creek in Seymour.

Temporary traffic measures will be in place from Thursday 25 September to ensure safe access for all vehicles, including trucks:

  • Reduced speed limit: 40 km/h across the bridge
  • Single-lane traffic: Controlled by temporary traffic lights
  • Closure of the Oak Street and Abdallah Road intersection, with a detour via Tarcombe Road for local residents

Further detailed structural assessments are scheduled for Monday 29 September. Additional updates will be provided once engineers’ advice is confirmed.

Council thanks the community for their patience and cooperation while these essential safety measures remain in place.
