Council will install traffic lights to improve safety at the busy Robert Road/Bicentennial Road intersection.
The $3.6 million project will include new slip lanes, centre medians, pedestrian crossings, bike lanes and footpaths.
The intersection will remain open under traffic control during construction as will the Bicentennial Road carpark access to ALF Fretwell Park.
The project will be completed in early 2020.
