Traffic offences in Adelaide River

Northern Territory Police have again issued a warning to the community after a number of drivers were caught doing the wrong thing.

During the 24-hour period, police conducted patrols along the Stuart Highway.

Police issued three notices to appear for drug and drink driving offences.

A further nine infringements for traffic offences were also issued, which included driving unlicensed, driving an unregistered and having an unrestrained child in the vehicle.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Malley said, “People are continually willing to risk their lives and the lives of others, and what for, really?

“Road Safety doesn’t just lie with police. Road rules are not a suggestion, they are there to save lives and keep us safe. The community needs to take a share of responsibility and push the road safety message as well.”
