Trail bike rider dies in Figtree

A trail bike rider has died after a collision at Figtree today.

About 6.20pm (Tuesday 16 June 2020), emergency services were called after reports a man had not returned home after going for a trail bike ride in the bush.

Police attended and commenced a search. The 24-year-old man was located in bushland one kilometre west of O’brien Road, Figtree.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended however the rider, died at the scene.

It is believed the trail bike rider was alone when he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a tree.

Officers from Wollongong Police District Area established a crime scene and inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash continue

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
