Transit CIU armed robbery arrests

Detectives from the Transit Crime Investigation Unit have arrested three male teenagers following a series of armed robberies in Melbourne’s west last week.

It is alleged the teens were involved in multiple armed robberies in the Sunshine, Sunshine West and Maribyrnong areas between 3 and 8 August.

On each occasion it is alleged the victims were assaulted and robbed.

Two 16-year-old Sunshine West teens, and a 15-year-old Maidstone boy were arrested and charged with multiple counts of armed robbery, recklessly cause serious injury, and other assault related offences.

All have been remanded in custody to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
