Treating each other with respect

From time to time we see or hear about acts of racism in our city and our response is the same no matter who is the target. We don’t tolerate it. Whether it happens on our streets, in our reserves or at our schools we will act.

Bayside is a kind, tolerant and connected community and we remind our residents and young people to always treat each other with respect. Bayside is a place of acceptance and community. We must continue to respect and look out for each other, particularly during this challenging time.

If you see, hear or know about any acts of racism please report it. If it is graffiti we will remove it. If it is behaviour we will refer it to the police.

If it is at your school our Youth Services team works in partnership with other youth service providers to develop programs that address the needs of young people and their families.

If there’s a specific issue at your school you would like addressed, we can tailor a program to meet those needs or provide advice about the most appropriate organisation to work with. In line with COVID-19 restrictions, all programs provided by Council are currently taking place online.
