Truck driver dies after crash north of Wentworth, NSW

A report is being prepared for the information of the Coroner following the death of a truck driver in the state’s far south west yesterday.

A passing motorist found the 4.5 tonne truck some distance off the Silver City Highway at Scotia, 130km north of Wentworth, about 11.50am (Monday 25 November 2019), and notified emergency services.

Officers from Barrier Police District attended and found the truck had travelled about 400m off the highway, striking several trees before coming to a stop.

The driver, believed to be a 77-year-old man from Broken Hill, had died at the scene.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
