Two arrests after two-vehicle crash, NSW

Two people have been arrested as investigations continue into a two-vehicle crash in Sydney’s south overnight.

About 1.15am (Sunday 12 January 2020), emergency services were called to Stoney Creek Road at Beverly Hills, following reports a Volkswagen Golf hatchback and a Mercedes sedan collided.

The collision caused the Mercedes to crash into a nearby brick fence. The driver and two passengers of the sedan allegedly then fled the scene.

Officers from St George Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Shortly after, a 23-year-old man was arrested on Stoney Creek Road, near Forest Street, Beverly Hills. He was taken to St George Police Station, before being conveyed to St George Hospital in a stable condition.

Another man, aged 40, was arrested in nearby Queensbury Street, Penshurst, a short time later. He was taken to St George Police Station, where he is assisting with inquiries.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.
