TWO historic steam trains will depart Central Station simultaneously this morning at 9.25am and race through Sydney’s inner west to Strathfield and return.
The race marks the start of the annual TRANSPORT HERITAGE EXPO on this June long weekend (Saturday 8 – 10 June), featuring steam train rides, vintage bus rides, harbour steam cruises and heritage displays.
Children will also have an opportunity to visit inside the driver’s cab of a real life steam locomotive at Central Station.
Last year’s event was attended by over 9,000 Sydneysiders and has grown to become a popular favourite for families with young children and transport enthusiasts alike.
