Kyneton police have impounded two vehicles just days apart travelling at more than double the speed limit in the central Victorian township.
Police detected a motorcycle travelling at 154km/h in a 60 zone on Saleyards Road just after 6am on 9 December.
The 26-year-old learner rider, who had only got his bike days earlier, had his motorcycle impounded at a cost of $1415.
He will be charged on summons with ride at a speed dangerous and exceed speed limit by 45kp/h or more.
In the early hours of 11 December Kyneton police observed a Holden Commodore ute doing burnouts in a gravel car park.
Police attempted to intercept the car which fled the car park and was detected allegedly driving at 185km/h in an 80 zone.
A short time later police located the commodore and the 18-year-old probationary driver.
He was arrested and had his car immediately impounded at cost of $1475.
His charges included conduct endangering life, speed dangerous, exceed speed limit by 45km/h or more, evade police, loss of traction of a motor vehicle, refused PBT and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.
