Two injured when motorcycle and car crash at Berkeley, NSW

Two teens have been seriously injured after the motorcycle they were riding and a car collided in the Illawarra region overnight.

Just after 11.30pm (Sunday 10 May 2020), emergency services were called to Hertford Street at Berkeley, after a Toyota Aurion sedan and a motorcycle collided.

On arrival, officers from Lake Illawarra Police District found the motorcycle rider, a 16-year-old boy, and his pillion passenger, a 17-year-old girl, seriously injured.

Both have been taken to Wollongong Hospital in a serious condition.

The driver of the car, an 18-year-old man, was not injured and was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established with officers from the Crash Investigation Unit to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As inquiries continue, investigators urge any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision in the area at the time to come forward.
