Two interviewed after Sunshine death

Homicide Squad detectives have interviewed two teenage boys overnight as part of their ongoing investigation into a fatal stabbing in Sunshine on Thursday.

An 18-year-old from Burnside attended a police station yesterday evening.

He was interviewed and released pending further enquiries.

Investigators also interviewed and released a 17-year-old Caroline Springs boy who was arrested in Braybrook yesterday.

Investigators are continuing to search for a third teenage boy believed to be involved in the incident and are urging him to come forward and make contact with police.

Emergency services were called to Station Place about 3.45pm on 18 May after reports of an altercation and stabbing.

A 16-year-old Melton South male was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

Two other 16-year-old boys were also injured, with one taken to hospital and one treated at the scene.

Detectives are still working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and the motivation for the altercation.

The investigation remains ongoing.

They are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone who has mobile phone, dash cam or CCTV footage of the incident.
