Two men charged following Hoppers Crossing aggravated home invasion

Detectives from the Gang Crime Squad have charged two men overnight following an incident in Hoppers Crossing where three men were injured last week.

With the assistance of the Special Operations Group, Dog Squad and North West Metro Regional Crime Squad, three males were arrested yesterday afternoon.

A 21-year-old St Albans man was charged with affray and firearm and drug related offences.

A 19-year-old St Albans man was charged with affray.

The duo will face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.

A 17-year-old Tarneit boy was interviewed and released pending further enquiries.

With assistance from ND3 Offender Management, Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit and Divisional Response Unit, warrants were executed at three residential addresses in St Albans (2) and Tarneit on Wednesday.

A semi-automatic handgun and drugs of dependence were seized from one of the St Albans addresses.

The charges follow an incident where a car was driven into the garage of a residence on Bayview Crescent in Hoppers Crossing about 8.45pm on Tuesday 21 March.

A number of people from the car and at the property were then involved in an altercation.

A 29-year-old man, 23-year-old man and 19-year-old man were all conveyed to hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe the incident was targeted and the investigation remains ongoing.
