Two teenagers arrested after carjacking in Thomastown

Mill Park Serious Crime Taskforce detectives have charged two teenage boys following an alleged carjacking which occurred in Thomastown on Wednesday night (26 June).

Investigators have been told a 25-year-old Lalor man was washing his car at a Dalton Road service station when he was approached by the two youths about 11.30pm.

The youths were allegedly armed and threatened the man, forcing the man into his car and driving away with him.

They then stopped near Northgate and Macquarie Drive and allegedly assaulted the man, throwing him out of the stationary vehicle.

The offenders fled in the victim’s vehicle, a black Mitsubishi Lancer sedan.

The victim walked to a nearby fast food restaurant and contacted police.

He sustained minor injuries to his face and was transported to hospital for treatment.

Police located the car at a Dandenong shopping centre earlier this morning and arrested a 17-year-old Dandenong boy and a 16-year-old Reservoir boy.

They have both been charged with aggravated carjacking, false imprisonment and kidnapping and have been remanded to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
