Two vehicle fatal crash – Arthur Highway, Copping

Aa 24 year old male from the Tasman Peninsula has died as the result of a two vehicle crash on the Arthur Highway at Copping.

The crash occurred around 12:15am on Friday 06/03/2020 between an eastbound silver Holden Rodeo being driven by a 77 year old male from the Tasman Peninsula with a 72 year old female passenger, and a westbound silver Toyota Hilux being driven by the deceased male.

Police, Tasmania Fire Service, Ambulance Tasmania and SES arrived quickly at the scene. Unfortunately the male driver was unable to be revived.

Forensic personnel and Crash Investigation Services arrived at the scene and carried out an investigation to determine the circumstances of the collision.

The Arthur Highway at the crash scene was closed for 6 hours whilst investigations were carried out. An alternate route of travel was provided to motorists. Police would like to thank motorists for their patience during this time.
