As stated by Inspector Porima Rangitutia, Otago Coastal Area Commander:
Police are investigating an unexplained death in Dunedin overnight.
At around 11pm on Wednesday 30 September, emergency services were called to Leckhampton Court where a man was located unresponsive.
Despite efforts to revive the man, he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
A scene guard is in place, with a scene examination set to be carried out later today.
Leckhampton Court is currently closed between South Road and St Helliers Court, and is expected to remain closed for most of the day.
Police are appealing for anybody with information that could assist to please come forward.
We’re interested in any unusual or suspicious activity on Leckhampton Court between 10:30pm and 11pm yesterday evening.
Additionally, anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from the area between those times is asked to contact Police via 105, either over the phone or online at 105.police.govt.nz.
