Universities Australia statement on NSW plan for safe return of international students

Universities Australia Chief Executive Catriona Jackson said:

“Universities around the country have been making careful plans, in collaboration with health authorities, government and industry, for the safe return of students from low-risk nations.”

“It is pleasing to see progress in New South Wales, where international students play a large role in cultural and economic life.”

“There are now more than 50,000 higher education students studying with New South Wales institutions who are out of the country, and it would be wonderful to see some of them safely on our shores.”

“Universities Australia has been calling for a national plan for the safe return of students from low-risk nations for some time, as part of a careful reboot of Australia’s economy.”
