Unlawful use of a motor vehicle and traffic crash in Robina, QLD

Police have charged a woman following the theft of a car in Robina last night.

At about 6.30pm a 39-year-old Varsity Lakes woman has approached another woman in a Robina shopping centre car park and demanded her keys.

Police will allege the woman forcibly took the keys from the owner and threw her from the car.

At 6.35pm the car was allegedly sighted travelling at high speeds along the intersection of Cheltenham Drive and Ron Penhaligon Way when it has crashed into a house on Cottesloe Drive causing significant damage.

Upon police arrival the 39-year-old woman had serious but not life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital, where she remains.

Investigating’s are continuing.
