Update 1: Serious assault appeal in Pialba, QLD

A 58-year-old local man assaulted at a Pialba residence earlier this month has died in hospital.

Between 12.50am on Saturday, January 5 and 1.15am Sunday, January 6 an altercation occurred at an Alice Street address resulting in a 58-year-old man sustaining bodily injuries.

He was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where he was pronounced deceased yesterday.

Detectives are continuing their appeal for public assistance asking anyone in the area during 10pm on January 5 and 3am on January 6 to contact them.

Anyone who may be able to assist with investigations, particularly pedestrians with mobile phone footage or road users with dash cam vision, is urged to contact police.
