UPDATE #2 – Arrest – Fatal Crash In Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have arrested a man involved in the stolen motor vehicle fatal crash in Alice Springs last month.

An 18-year-old man, who was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash, was located and arrested in Laramba yesterday.

Major Crash detectives have now arrested all involved, including the driver, who were travelling in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner, “This was a large investigation, and now everyone involved will face consequences for their actions on that night.

“Five adults, three 18-year-olds, two 21-year-olds, and 2 youths, both aged 15, have now been charged with Unlawful use of motor vehicle. The adults involved were each refused bail, while two youths were bailed to appear at later dates. Another youth, a 17-year-old male was dealt with under the Provisions of the Youth Justice Act 2005.

“The driver faces the additional charge of Dangerous driving causing death.

“All have various court dates, with the man arrested yesterday to appear before the Alice Springs Local Court today.”
