Update: Charges and Serious assault appeal at Kelvin Grove, QLD

Detectives from the Brisbane City Child Protection and Investigation Unit have charged two teenagers and are appealing for further assistance following the alleged serious assault of a man at Kelvin Grove on 24 July.

A 17-year-old Kelvin Grove boy has been charged with grievous bodily harm, armed robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm.

A 16-year-old Alderley boy has been dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act in relation to one count each of grievous bodily harm, armed robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm.

The 17 year old boy was refused police bail and is due to appear in Brisbane Children’s Court on Monday, 27 July 2026.

A 17-year-old boy who was initially arrested has since been released without charge.

Detectives are continuing to seek assistance from the public to identify dash-cam footage from any vehicle that may have been in the following areas around these times:

• Victoria Park Road Kelvin Grove between 9:30pm- 10:30pm

• Barter Avenue, Holland Park West between 11:30pm- 11:50pm.
