UPDATE: Man to be extradited from Gold Coast on drug-related offences – Strike Force Maimura

Organised Crime Squad detectives will extradite a man from the Gold Coast to Sydney following an investigation into alleged commercial drug supply around Australia under Strike Force Maimura.

Strike Force Maimura is a joint investigation between State Crime Command’s Organised Crime Squad and the NSW Crime Commission – with assistance from the Australian Federal Police, Western Australia Police and Queensland Police – which identified a criminal group allegedly involved in drug supply across Australia using private planes and encrypted devices (DECCDs).

About 9.40am today (Tuesday 27 February 2024), strike force detectives executed a search warrant at Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast, where they arrested a 55-year-old man.

He was taken to Southport Police Station where the NSW arrest warrant was executed.

The man appeared at Southport Magistrates Court today (Tuesday 27 February 2024), where NSW detectives were granted his extradition to NSW.
