The State Government has recently released its draft visions for the Burwood and Box Hill precinct plans for the Suburban Rail Loop project. You can read about these draft visions on the State Government’s Suburban Rail Loop’s website.
Council is currently reviewing the draft precinct visions and planning area boundaries proposed for Box Hill and Burwood and will consider these proposals in early 2024.
Council is continuing to advocate to the Suburban Rail Loop Authority to commit to entering into a collaborative partnership agreement with Council to develop the Precinct Structure Plans for Box Hill and Burwood. As part of this, and given Council’s rich local knowledge of the areas, Council is asking for Suburban Rail Loop Authority to actively respond to Council’s views on precinct planning so that Council can ensure the plans reflect local community needs and give due consideration to open space, environment, amenity, liveability and our local economy.
Council is also advocating to the Suburban Rail Loop Authority for broader community consultation and engagement.
The State Government is currently seeking community feedback on these draft visions. To provide feedback, please visit the Suburban Rail Loop’s Box Hill vision page or the Burwood vision page.
