Update: Unlawful use of motor vehicles, Gold Coast

Detectives have charged three teenagers in relation to a number of incidents on the Gold Coast involving two stolen vehicles from Brisbane.

It will be alleged at 2.17am on April 25, a ride share driver was held up at knifepoint and his white Toyota Camry was stolen at a service station at Cooksley Street and Yulestar Street at Hamilton.

It will be further alleged at 11.50am on April 25, a gold Toyota FJ Cruiser was stolen from a Garfield Drive address at Paddington.

These two vehicles were observed possibly travelling together along the M1 heading toward the Gold Coast around 3am on Wednesday morning by a member of the public who reported them acting suspiciously.

Around 6.37am, this morning, a resident at Fleetwood Court at Helensvale reported offender/s attempting to gain entry to his property. They were observed to be possibly armed with a firearm. He observed the offender/s arrive and leave in the stolen gold Toyota FJ Cruiser.

At 4.55pm today police successfully deployed a tyre deflation device on Inala Avenue at Inala. The Toyota FJ Cruiser crashed into a park bollard and the three teenagers were located nearby a short time later.

An 18-year-old Wacol man, a 15-year-old Wilsonton Heights girl and a 16-year-old Drewvale girl have all been charged with one count each of assault, robbery, unlawful use of motor vehicle and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle.

The man will appear in the Richlands Magistrates Court on Thursday and the two girls will appear at the Richlands Childrens Court.

The Toyota Landcruiser has been recovered by police however the white Toyota Camry with Queensland registration 021SPG remains outstanding.
