Update2: Bus assaults, North Brisbane

A 39-year-old man is currently assisting police with inquiries following investigations into two allegedassaults on Brisbane buses in December last year.

Today officers released CCTV footage to appeal to members of the public who may recognise the man, to contact police.

At around 2.30pm today, officers conducting routine patrols, recognised a man matching the description on Lutwyche Road in Windsor.

The man is now speaking with detectives from the North Brisbane District.

Officers are additionally appealing for anyone who may have been a victim of random or unprovoked assaults in Brisbane by the man and who has not already spoken to police, to please contact them.

The first assault was around 7.45pm on Sunday December 9, when a 40-year-old man was sitting on a bus as it stopped on Maundrell Terrace in Chermside.

In a separate incident, it is believed the same man assaulted and caused facial injuries to an 18-year-old woman at around 5.45pm on Wednesday December 12 when he punched her.

She was seated on a bus when it stopped on South Pine Road at Everton Park at the time of the assault.

Investigations are continuing.
