Updated F6 extension motorway proposal

The Department of Planning and Environment is inviting community input on Road and Maritime Services’ (RMS) updated plan for the F6 Extension Stage 1.

The project involves four-kilometre continuous twin tunnels (north and south) to connect the new M5 at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah.

The updated plan released today (known as the Preferred Infrastructure Report) follows on from the 2018 exhibition of the project’s Environmental Impact Statement.

RMS made amendments to the proposal based on feedback from the local community during that exhibition.

The Department is now seeking further community input on those amendments which include:

  • Changes to the operational access and exit arrangements to and from President Avenue at Princes Highway, Lachal Avenue, Traynor Avenue, West Botany Street, Civic Avenue, and Cross Street, Kogarah and O’Connell Street, Monterey; and
  • Extension of the proposed shared cycle and pedestrian pathway from President Avenue through Scarborough Park North to Chuter Avenue/O’Connell Street, south of Robinson Street, at Monterey.

Community consultation is an integral part of the planning process and the Department of Planning and Environment is encouraging feedback on the Preferred Infrastructure Report during the public exhibition period which starts today (17 April) until 1 May.
