Upgraded facilities for Leisure Centre

The female change room facilities at the Bass Coast Aquatic and Leisure Centre will undergo renovations to improve accessibility and safety this month.

The upgrades will include the removal of the existing raised concrete bases in the showers to improve access for all users, as well as the replacement of the floor surface throughout the amenities space. The existing partition walls in the shower area will be replaced, with new plumbing fittings and tapware being installed. Existing lighting will also be replaced, with more environmentally friendly LED fittings.

Construction is set to begin on Monday, 16 August and is expected to take around five weeks to complete.

The Aquatic Centre will remain open to the public and operate as normal during the construction period and temporary female changing facilities will be provided while construction is underway.

This $95,000 project is a part of Council’s 2021/22 Capital Works Building Renewal Program.
