Victorian women's coaching update

Victorian Women’s Head Coach Jarrad Loughman will leave his role after Cricket Victoria elected not to renew his contract.

Loughman was first appointed to the role in 2021.

Loughman coached Victoria for two and a half seasons, in which several players debuted for the state and went on to represent Australia.

Cricket Victoria Head of Female Cricket Sharelle McMahon said:

“We have undertaken a comprehensive review and assessment of our women’s state program to ensure we are well-positioned to achieve success in the years to come.

“The process has provided us clarity on the direction of the program and determined that the program requires a different skillset in the Senior Coaching role.”

Cricket Victoria’s GM of Cricket Performance, Graham Manou, said:

“Jarrad has been involved in the Cricket Performance team here for many years including roles leading our Academy and as Assistant Coach in our men’s program. I’d like to thank Jarrad for his service to Cricket Victoria over many years and wish him well for the next stage of his career.”

Assistant Coach and former Sri Lanka international Dulip Samaraweera will lead the squad as interim Head Coach.

Cricket Victoria will confirm an appointment to the position in due course.
