Virgin Australia offer 50 per cent off fares to Escape to WA

  • New ‘Escape to WA’ flight incentive offers out-of-state visitors discounts of up to 50 per cent with Virgin Australia to Perth from four capital cities
  • Initiative aims to inject more than $11 million into WA accommodation and tourism businesses
  • Supported by the McGowan Government, through Tourism WA, as part of the Reconnect WA strategy
  • Visitors from the Eastern States have yet another good reason to come to Western Australia, with Virgin Australia offering up to half price return flights to Perth in a one-week sale that begins today.

One-way flights to Perth start from just $119 from Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide.

The ‘Escape to WA’ 50 per cent off flight sale is the result of a partnership between Virgin Australia and the McGowan Government through Tourism WA, with the aim of boosting hotel occupancy rates and visitor spend in the State’s economy.

The campaign targets travellers in the Eastern States who are looking to visit friends and relatives in Western Australia, as well as those who want to holiday in Australia instead of overseas.

While in Perth, out-of-state visitors are encouraged to make the most of all the State has to offer, with one-of-a-kind adventures to experience, as well as a full schedule of blockbuster sporting events planned for the winter season at Perth’s world-class Optus Stadium.

Visitors are also encouraged to travel to WA’s stunning regions and book a tour to experience the State’s unique adventure travel offerings and premium food and wine.

This special deal is available for one week from today at virginaustralia.com until June 27, unless sold our prior, for travel between August 1 to September 15, and October 11 to December 14.

This promotion is part of the State Government’s $195 million Reconnect WA package and Tourism WA’s $12 million Wander Out Yonder domestic marketing blitz, which is supporting Western Australia’s tourism industry by encouraging more Australians to visit the west, stay longer, and travel further.

The new Initiative with Virgin Australia aims to inject more than $11 million into WA accommodation and tourism businesses

The campaign will feature on metro and regional television and radio, digital and social media channels throughout Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide.

Virgin Airlines will be marketing the special discounted airfares and accommodation vouchers through its email database and on its website.

As stated by Tourism Minister Roger Cook:

“The best thing we can do for the tourism sector is get tourists back travelling, spending money and enjoying all the amazing holiday destinations Western Australia has to offer.

“This creates jobs and revenue across WA’s tourism businesses and within our hotels.

“We have amazing momentum at the moment as the message to come to WA is being sent loud and clear around Australia and to the rest of the world.

“The McGowan Government is delighted to be partnering with Virgin Australia to give visitors from the Eastern States even more incentive to visit Western Australia.

“Our goal is to share our extraordinary part of the country with the rest of Australia and encourage visitors to experience the vast array of high-end and newly opened accommodation options in Perth and in our stunning regions.”
