Regional Western Australians will get more opportunities to participate in sport thanks to the McGowan Government’s latest round of Regional Servicing Grants worth $870,000.
The funds will allow eligible State sporting associations and industry bodies to partner with regional sporting clubs to improve planning, management and governance practices to get more people playing sport.
Thanks to the McGowan Government’s expansion of the program to include 16 State sporting organisations, organisations such as WestCycle, Sailing WA and Golf WA will share in the additional funding.
Rugby union, gymnastics, volleyball and water polo are also new sports to receive funding under the program.
The expansion of the program comes after the sports developed regional servicing plans and identified strategic initiatives and the need to better service regional areas.
